Looking for an app that can consume just hours of your time, requires little manual dexterity, and can keep your eyes glued wide open to your Android screen? I wasn’t. But I found it, at least for me. On a recent trip to the Android market on my HTC Hero, I stumbled on Bubble Burst Free. While you can, and may likely want to, upgrade to Bubble Burst Pro, you can get a quick bubble bursting addiction fix with the free version.
It is a really a simple game… you are presented with a grid of multiple colored bubbles. Click on any horizontally or vertically connected bubbles of the same color and they burst and you get point. 2 bubbles = 2 points. 3 bubbles = 6 points. Each bubble “added” contiguous bubbles add points. 4 bubbles = 12 points (4 times 3). 5 bubbles = 20 points (5 times 4), 6 bubbles = 30 points (6 times 5). Obviously you want to string together huge groups of contiguous bubbles.
This game has been around on the PC forever in some form or another. If you are used to the PC versions, you will notice the free version has some big restrictions. The most obvious to me was that I like the version of the game that fills gaps of bursted bubble first my sliding down then shifting left. I personally think that is what makes bubble bursting the most dynamic. However, to have it for free and to meet my immediate needs, this is worth it for me.
I may up upgrade to the pro version in the future, it is only a $4.99; but for now I will stick with the free version.
