Android Gaining Market Share

I was just reading over at Mashable that Android took a nice jump in the mobile market share in May 2010, especially as compared to Feb 2010. According to their report, Android jumped from a 9% share to a 13% share. 13%? That does not seem like a lot. To me though, given that RIM (blackberry) and Apple (iPhone) had a huge first to market advantage, that trend is a big indicator. Of course it is pretty clear that I am a huge fan of Android and that probably slants my opinion. I truly think though that the inherent openness that Android brings as compared to the competitors will eventually make it the leader in the space.
