WordPress Admin? Android to the Rescue!

by Android Tips on February 26, 2010

As the admin for a few WordPress blogs covering a multitude of topics, I find that I am constantly creating new posts, editing existing posts, reviewing comments and either marking them as spam (a lot) or approving them.  I have my laptop with me much of the time,  but on occasion I just don’t have Internet access via computer. In those situations, I typically can not spend time doing “blog work”.

No longer! There is now a nifty little Wordpress for Android app  that allows me to do my basic tasks.  With Wordpress for Android, you can review comments and approve, unapprove, or delete as necessary.  You can add new posts, edit posts, even upload images.  Likewise you can perform the same tasks for pages.

Is Wordpress for Android for everyone? Of course not.  However, if your blog is very chatty with constant comments that need to be reviewed, the Wordpress for Android app will fit the bill.  No more trying to find a computer with Internet access while traveling.  No more trying to use the built in browser to surf the Wordpress admin panel (it’s tiny, it does not work that well!).

Give Wordpress for Android a try. It might not be an everyday tool for you to admin your blog with, but I can pretty much guarantee that you will find a need for it one day!

One last note.  It looks like the app is being widely supported. I expect it will grow in functionality as it becomes more mature.
